STAFFORD – L. Lee Unruh, 80, died April 9, 2011 at his home in Stafford. Born August 28, 1929 at Montezuma. He was the son of Sam C. and Leona Nightengale Unruh. He managed Memorial Park Cemetery for 25 years and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a past President and Lt. Governor of the Hutchinson Optimist Club, member of the Bethany Church of the Nazarene in Hutchinson and attended the Calvary Baptist Church, Stafford. On December 28, 1951 he married Dorothy I. Hallmark at Garden City. He is survived by his wife - Dorothy. Son - Donald Unruh and his wife Charlotte of Kansas City. Daughters - Dayleen Welch and her husband David of Bedford, Iowa. Cheryl Burns and her husband Craig of Stafford. Sister - Norma Koehn of New Plymouth, Idaho. Seven grandchildren. Seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother - LaVerne and a sister - Goldie Vancil. Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 13 at Penwell Gable Cemetery, Hutchinson with Military Rites by Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Kansas in care of Minnis Chapel, Stafford.
