Edna Hildebrand

STAFFORD - Edna E. Hildebrand was born in Timken, KS on August 10, 1918 to John and Anne Eitel. She went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2011, at the age of 93. She married Clifford Hildebrand on June 2, 1938, and they loved spending time together during their 57 years before his death in 1995. They began farming in 1943 and raised crops, milked cows, and butchered their own livestock, pigs and chickens. Edna also worked as a retail clerk and nurse’s aide for several years.
The central focus of both Clifford and Edna were their fellowship and leadership at Calvary Baptist Church and in the community and their children and extended families. Their witness included sharing home-grown watermelons and cantaloupe and home-made ice cream with family and friends. Edna was a godly woman who loved the Lord and was always ready to share a smile and enjoy a conversation with anyone who crossed her path. She took great delight in her family, whom she loved deeply.

She is survived by her son - Glendon "Glen" Hildebrand and his wife Ann of Puyallup, WA. Sisters - Linda Goldsworth of Hutchinson and Edith Elder of Bison.Son-in-law - Richard Meyer and his wife Jean of St. John. Five grandchildren. 15 great-grandchildren. Five great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by daughter - Ellen Jean, still-born twin sons and sisters Helen Rucker and Ruth Dahl.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 27 at Calvary Baptist Church, three miles north of Stafford, KS. Burial will be at Stafford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church or Leisure Home Association in care of Minnis Chapel, Stafford.
