Stephanie Maness

STAFFORD - Stephanie Corine Banks Maness was born April 11, 1978 in Kingman, Kansas to Kenneth and Kay (Clark) Banks. She passed away October 2, 2009 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas from complications with Neurofibromatosis.

Stephanie was a very strong and courageous individual. Diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis at the age of 6, she lived her life determined that it wouldn't hold her back. She enjoyed life and took the disease's difficulties in stride. She loved many things in life, most particularly spending time with her children, making chocolate chip cookies, Cowboys football and Jayhawk basketball.

Stephanie graduated from Medicine Lodge High School in 1998.

On July 31, 2000, she married Erik Maness at Anthony, Kansas. They had four children.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother and an infant son. She is survived by her father, her step-mother, Susan, her husband, Erik, her son, Tristan, daughters Alexia and Celestia, her sister Natalie Banks, her brother and his wife, Ira and Brittany Banks, two nieces and many other family members and friends.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday at Sylvia Cemetery with Pastor J. Marrell Cornwell presiding. Minnis Chapel, Stafford is in charge of arrangements.
