Mary Alice Chiles

STAFFORD - Mary Alice Chiles, 87, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas.

She was born January 27, 1922 in St. John, Kansas to Eugene and May Davison.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Baptist Women’s Organization, a Pink Lady Volunteer at Stafford Hospital for over 20 years. She also was a 4-H leader in Ellsworth County and a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church, Lorraine, Kansas.

She really enjoyed puzzles, crocheting, gardening, sewing, painting and helping family and friends.

On October 12, 1941, she married Laurn H. Chiles in St. John, Kansas. He survives in the home.
Other survivors include a son, Philip and wife, Lois, Lansing, KS; daughter, Marilbell Wetzel and husband Keith, Hutchinson, KS; grandsons, Chris Chiles and wife Karen, Parkville, MO, Mike Chiles and wife Lisa, Lansing, KS, Steve Chiles and wife Kelly, Shawnee, KS and Reed Wetzel, Lawrence, KS; four great grandchildren, Morgan, Camden, Sydney and Danyelle Chiles.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Lawrence Davison.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church, Stafford with Pastor Jim Dillon presiding. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Burial will be in Stafford Cemetery, Stafford. Memorials can be sent to Calvary Baptist Church, Stafford.
