On September 12, 2009 he died at the age of 81 having lived his entire life in the community located around Stafford and Zenith.

Lee enjoyed growing up on the farm with his brothers and sister . He attended and then graduated from Stafford High School in 1947. Family and friends were happy when on September 14, 1985, Lee married Carol Keller McFadden. During their marriage, each became a cherished parent and grandparent to the other's family members.

Under his father, Fred Paulsen's yearbook picture the caption was "Still water runs deep". This was true of Lee just like his Father. He had an inner toughness, was an intense, loyal and caring individual. Of course the term feisty comes to mind as well! He had a special relationship not only with his family but with the community at large and will be missed by all.
