STAFFORD - John Maurice Street, 67, died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Via Christie St. Francis, Wichita from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Born March 4, 1942 in Venita, OK he was the son of Jonas Maurice and Martha Louise Speed Street. He and his wife Arlene were longtime Dallas area residents. Following his retirement as a UPS Manager he resided at Lake Cypress Springs near Mt. Vernon, Texas. Following his marriage to Marceline Masten on May 24, 2002 they returned to Stafford. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam serving two tours and receiving the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Stafford Main Street, American Legion, American Legion Riders, lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, President and Charter member of the Friends of Texas Vietnam Veterans Memorial, past President of the Lewisville Bass Club, North Texas Emmaus and Kairos Ministeries and member of the Mt. Vernon V.F.W. He is survived by his mother: Martha Street. Wife: Marceline. Two sons: Michael Street and his wife Shanna and their children, Jessica, Stephanie, Miranda, Jason and Mikayla. Chad Street and his wife Monica and their children, Sophia and Will. Two Stepsons: Scott Younkin and his sons, Austin, Cooper and Dakota. Stacy Younkin and his wife Phyllis and their children, Shelby, William and Nicholas. Brother: Bill Street. Sister: Joanne Allen and her husband Gerald and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Minnis Chapel, Stafford with Pastor Amy Slater presiding. The family will receive friends Tuesday 7-9 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Memorials may be sent to the Friends of Texas Vietnam Veterans Memorial in care of Minnis Chapel, Stafford.
