John C. Jones

STAFFORD - John C. Jones, 86, died Friday, September 9, 2011 at Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt. Born September 4, 1925 at Whitewright, TX he was the son Johnnie D. and Ethel Hooper Jones. He was a longtime Stafford resident. He had owned the Texaco Station in Stafford and retired from the City of Stafford where he worked in the power plant. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Stafford, Masonic Lodge and had been a volunteer for the Stafford Fire Dept. On Oct. 6, 1946 he married Ruth Waller. He is survived by his wife of Stafford. Daughter: Marilyn Curtis and her husband Larry of Stafford. Brother: Bobbie Lee Jones of Canon City, CO. Three grandchildren. Five great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2011 at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Friends may call Sunday 1-6 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5-6 p.m. at the chapel. Memorials may be sent to the Kansas Christian Home of Newton or the American Heart Association both in care of the chapel.
