SYLVIA – James V. Stanton, 75, died April 29, 2011 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. Born November 25, 1935 at Kansas City, KS he was the son of Milton E. and Alla Marie Shackleford Stanton. He was a manufacturers rep. for industrial test equipment living in the Atlanta area for 20 years before retiring to Sylvia. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Air Force. He was a member of the Sylvia United Methodist Church, had served as a church council chairman and was a past member of the Sylvia City Council. On November 25, 1959 he married Letha Albright at Pretty Prairie. He is survived by his wife - Letha of Sylvia. Sons - Andrew J. Stanton of Platte City, MO and Randall E. Stanton of Miami, FL. Daughter - Michelle Parsons of Atlanta, GA. Brothers - Earl of Punta Gorda, FL and Bernard of Kansas City, MO. Two grandchildren. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 2 at the Sylvia United Methodist Church with Rev. Joyce Beam presiding. Memorials may be sent to the Sylvia United Methodist Church. Minnis Chapel, Stafford is in charge of arrangements.
