STAFFORD - Earl Wayne Fox was born September 11, 1930 to Earl and Marie Cooper Fox in Rural St. John, KS. He died at the age of 78 on August 9 at the Kansas Soldiers Home, Old Fort Dodge, Kansas. He attended the rural Sunshine School, District #71 in Stafford County and graduated from St. John High School in 1948. He was a member of the St. John Baptist Church. Earl Wayne Fox was a member of the US Army serving from 1951 to 1955. He was a patrolman for the Kansas Highway Patrol and he also was an insurance agent for Farm Bureau. He spent the majority of his adult life farming in partnership with his father. On May 28, 1954 he married Bernice Leatherman Julian in Clovis, New Mexico. Earl Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his son Lance; a sister, Mary Grace; brothers, Eugene, Russell and Leo; and stepmother Edna Fox. He is survived by grandson - Dr. Jeff Fox and his wife Rhonda and their children Lacie, Owen and Chad all of Guymon, OK; sister - Doris Anderson of Stafford; brother - John Fox and his wife Sharon of Wichita; sister-in-laws - Aiko Fox of St. John, Jo Fox of Stafford and Alice Fox of Gt. Bend; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John with Pastor Wade Russell presiding. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Memorials may be sent to the Kansas Soldiers Home in care of the chapel.
