Carl Leavelle

STAFFORD - Carl E. Leavelle died June 18, 2010 at Leisure Homestead, Stafford. Born November 1, 1926 at Bagwell, Texas he was the son of Tommy and Leona Enox Leavelle. He served in the Army post WWII in the Phillipines and Japan. He was a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a B.A. degree in Agriculture. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War.
On December 25, 1953 he married JoNell Foley in Littlefield, Texas. She survives. Other survivors include: two sons - Bruce Leavelle of Stafford and Tommy Leavelle of Clinton, Mississippi. Daughter - LaJuana Leavelle Dixon of Stafford. Two sisters - Faye Martin of Slaton, Texas and Wanda Cotter of San Angelo, Texas. Three grandsons - Richard, Robert and Stephen. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother - Charles and two sisters - Peggy and Verlyn.
His earthly remains will be cremated. A private family memorial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or the V.F.W. both in care of Minnis Chapel, Stafford.
