STAFFORD – Albert Ernest Wendelburg went home to be with the Lord on April 1,2011.
He was born March 27, 1925 to Henry and Anna Moeckel Wendelburg. He married Zelma Lee Staub on September 25, 1946. He is survived by his wife Zelma; his son Gale; his sisters Dr. Norma Wendelburg of Hutchinson; Anna Bell Zeigler of Columbia, South Carolina; and Betty Minnick of Ottawa, Kansas; his brother Robert, also of Stafford; and many nieces and nephews. Albert's family will miss him greatly, but rejoices knowing he is at peace, with his Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edwin, and his son Rodney.
Albert was a lifetime farmer and rancher. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Stafford Saddle Club, Stafford Centennial Committee, Stafford Pride Committee and a volunteer at the Stafford County Museum. Albert was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his dog Blackie.
Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. on Monday, April 4, at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5 at Calvary Baptist Church of Stafford. A private burial will be held at Stafford Cemetery preceding the memorial service.
Memorials may be given to Calvary Baptist Church or the Stafford County Historical Society in care of the chapel.
